ACCEPTED TOO (ft. Carl Jung & Alan Watts)
Jung, Jung, Jung
I want to read
A passage from one of his lectures
Which I think is
One of the greatest things he ever wrote
And which has been a very marvelous thing for me
People forget
That even doctors have moral scruples
And that certain patients' confessions
Are hard even for a doctor to swallow
Yet the patient does not feel himself accepted
[Chorus]
Unless the very worst of him is accepted too
Unless the very worst of him is accepted too
And yet, the patient does not feel himself accepted
Unless the very worst of him is accepted too

NIRVANA (ft. Tom Waits x Charles Bukowski)
Not much chance completely cut loose from purpose
He was a young man riding a bus through North Carolina on the way to somewhere
And it began to snow
And the bus stopped at a little café in the hills
And the passengers entered
And he sat at the counter with the others
And he ordered the food arrived
And the meal was particularly good
And the coffee
The waitress was unlike the women he had known
She was unaffected and there was a natural humor which came from her
And the fry cook said crazy things
And the dishwasher in back laughed a good clean pleasant laugh
And the young man watched the snow through the window
And he wanted to stay in that café forever
The curious feeling swam through him that everything was beautiful there
And it would always stay beautiful there
And then the bus driver told the passengers that it was time to board
And the young man thought I'll just stay here
I'll just stay here
And then he rose and he followed the others into the bus
He found his seat and looked at the café through the window
And then the bus moved off down a curve downward out of the hills
And the young man looked straight forward
And he heard the other passengers speaking of other things
Or they were reading or trying to sleep
And they hadn't noticed the magic
And the young man put his head to one side
Closed his eyes and pretended to sleep
There was nothing else to do
Just to listen to the sound of the engine
And the sound of the tires
In the snow

The Laughing Heart (ft. Tom Waits x Charles Bukowski)
The laughing heart
Your life is your life
Don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission
Be on the watch
There are ways out
There is light somewhere
It may not be much light but it beats the darkness
But it beats the darkness
Be on the watch
The gods will offer you chances
Know them
Take them
You can’t beat death but you can beat death in life
Sometimes, and the more often you learn to do it
The more light there will be
Your life is your life
Know it while you have it
You are marvellous
The gods wait to delight in you
That's the beauty

The Man And The Birds (ft. Paul Harvey)
The man I'm talking about was not a scrooge
No, he was a kind, a decent, a mostly good man
Generous to his family and upright in his dealings with other men
But he just did not believe in all of that incarnation stuff
Which the churches proclaim at Christmas time
It just did not make sense and he was too honest
To pretend otherwise
He could not swallow the Jesus' story
About God coming to earth as a man
He told his wife, I'm truly sorry to distress you
But I'm just not going with you to church this Christmas Eve
He said he'd feel like a hypocrite
That he'd much rather just stay home
But that he would wait up for them
So, he stayed, and they went to the midnight service
Now, shortly after, the family drove away in the car Snow began to fall

Intuition (ft. Norm Macdonald)
I think, as far as the question of God goes
I wish that science, which is supposed to
Explore these things
Refuses to explore the fundamental question
That is of interest, not only to religious people
But intensely to atheists as well
They spend a lot of time thinking about something
They don't care about, or they pretend they don't care about
That science should spend all their time
They spend time trying to find new galaxies
As if that's important
Since God's an unproven thing, just a hypothesis at this point
I think it would be good to study it
First of all, the scientific method always begins with intuition
Always, always
The scientific method always begins with intuition
Always, always
Einstein used intuition
He did not study things objectively and find things
He was struck with something
And then followed that notion that he had or whatever you call that

ST. GEORGE IN RETIREMENT SYNDROME (ft. Douglas Murray)
It's a wonderful phrase that
The late Australian political philosopher
Ken Minogue, came up with
He identified a certain type of person who is keen
On the revolutionary attitude
Keen to be at the barricades
He called it St. George in Retirement Syndrome
St. George, after slaying the dragon
And getting all the acclaim for slaying a dragon
Might, might be tempted to – to go round the land
Finding more dragons, more dragons to slay
And there being a deficit of dragons in the land
Might end up, swinging his sword at smaller, and smaller beasts
Until, eventually, he might be found swinging his sword into thin air
Well, I don't say that there's no dragon like thing left to slay in our society
I don't say that everything is perfect, but
There is a lot in that, in the
Febrile, furious atmosphere of our times
When things have never been better

DO (ft. Jocko Willink)
I wanna tell you something else
And I wanna make this clear
Don't just listen
Don't just listen
[Chorus]
Do, do, do
Don't just listen
Do, do, do
Don't just listen
Do, I'm not just talking
So, you know, I'm not just talking
I'm doing
And I don't want you to just listen
Put this information to work
Make
Today count
Every day, every day
[Chorus]
Do, do, do
Don't just listen
Do, do, do
Don't just listen
Go forward, get aggressive and attack
Whether it's on the battlefield or on the beat (Akira)
Or in the factory or on the farm or on the construction site
Or on the website
In the garage or in the firehouse, don't hesitate

STEP (ft. Jocko Willink)
You've lived a life dominated by doubt and fear
How do you step into bravery?
You know, I actually
Took this question and I answered the question in one word
Step
[Chorus]
Step
Step into bravery
That's how you step into bravery
Take the step
Step
Step into bravery
That's how you step into bravery
Take the step
Step aggressively towards your fear
And that, that step towards your fear is the step into bravery
Because we're scared of what we don't know
And there's only one way to learn
