Regrets, I don’t mess with, since everything lead me to being right here, right now and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. But fond summer memories? I got a bunch. And I’m happy to report that, despite the best efforts of Tom Hanks and the Communist Chinese, I made a bunch more this year.
When the dreaded They that DJ Khaled warmed you about tried to cancel Summer, we said IN YOUR FACE DASTARDLY THEY, and we upped and moved state... and now we live in Dripping Springs, Texas, and we have a beautiful private lake that we visit as often as we can, and Hercules and I have sent many happy hours swimming in it, along with our new friends The Dripping Springs Ducks.
I’ve loved this Summer, here in the first moments of our new life, as the sun bore down from behind clouds bigger than gods of old with a strength and determination such like our own. Hercules is 7 right now, and he will never be seven again, and we’ll never get to have another Summer like this together ever again. But we’ll have other Summers. God willing, we’ll have other Summers.
When I was a kid I’d think, there’s so many Summers left!
Now I’m a man, and I’ve already had a whole gang of blessed summers, I know differently - there are only so many summers left. And I treasure them, brother sister, I treasure them, each and every one, and I will fight for them, till the very end.
