2023 was a year bursting with blessings for the Dons. We got to see our family in Europe for the first time since the last decade. We made and released a ton of brilliant music. I was able to visit the USA and perform for the first time since getting locked out in ‘21. And we finally got an amazing purpose-built studio to make music and videos and stream in, here in Mexico.
Thank you to everyone who helped make all these dreams come true, and we can’t wait to share our best work yet with you in 2024!
But before we come through with The New… as Terence McKenna says, sometimes to move forward, first we must reach back, like Indiana Jones grabbing his hat as the temple door collapses, for something precious, and necessary. And so on this first day of the new year, we are proud to bring you, beloved Meaningwave enjoyer, The Great Lost Meaningwave Album…
MYTHOS
This album was recorded in 2019, but due to tedious issues too boring to go into here, it never got to see the light of day. Tracks have been played on live streams, bootlegs have circulated, and last year we made it available to supporters of Meaningwave, many of whom consider it their favorite album. And while it remains absent from Spotify and other DSPs, we are today making it available for you all to enjoy via YouTube and Bandcamp. Disfrutas!
What you will hear is the record as it was at that time. It has not been re-mixed or re-mastered, tempted as I was to mess with history, for I would certainly do things differently if I were making it today… but I resisted that urge, and it remains just as it was when I stopped working on it back in 2019.
