“Don’t risk everything. Stay out of jail.”

Single number three from the forthcoming HOW TO GET RICH VOL 3is one of my favourite songs I’ve made, as it’s one of those special ones I’ve been looking forward to being able to make since I was a kid, and I just got to the point where I could make it. 

The song was written by me playing a chord progression over the looped section of what I knew as soon as I heard it was the chorus, and right there and then I hear the whole guitar melody, drum groove, bassline, vocal harmonies… it felt like driving at high speed along a coastline with top down with a fine woman at one’s side, nothing to do but GO, the whole world unfolding before you, peace, happiness, acceptance.

It’s a very good advice as well, and advice young me would have done well to mind, had he the ears to listen. That I am here at all to execute this magnificent record is a miracle in itself, as I had no idea what a Kelly Criterion was, and I certainly heeded no such creed. Yet, somehow, here we are, THEKELLY CRITERION is out now, and HOW TO GET RICH VOL 3 is out on July 21st.
